18 July 2006 - Hunt family update....

So what did we do on the weekend? Sunday we decided to go check out Garsons farm after the great reviews received from Tina. So with Tina as our Tour guide we set off for Esher. It's really just down the road, can't believe we have only heard about this recently.

After making our way in on the tiny narrow access road, we first headed off to the strawberry fields. Leo didn't care much for picking berries, but he was very interested in eating them. It's actually a real gimmic isn't it??? Paying for strawberries that you yourself have to pick....but I think it's great for kids (older ones that is) learning to appreciate where fruit and veggies come from, i.e. not the supermarket.
We then went to the cherries area, it would have been really useful if Leo could walk as he could get right in under the trees where the yummy cherries are hiding. It was really hot work, and Tina and I where quite scratchy and sweaty when we emerged from between the trees.

They also have a really great food shop, so we bought all manner of delights for an impromptu dinner braai. Very yummy. Big thanx to Tina for taking us around, it's a real nice place, I can see us dragging the grannies there on their next visit to the UK.
Sunday went a little down hill from there. Leo developed a fever and a terribly congested nose, Bronson and I took turns staying up with him as the only sleep he got was when he slept with us. We managed to break the fever in the morning and he has been fine since. His nose is still really congested but at least his temp is back to normal. Man this teething business is hard work....Hope they get a bit easier.
