10 July 2006 - Bunch of Firsts

Well this sure has been a week of firsts….and to add to the list, on Sunday, Leo’s first tooth popped through. He has had all the teeth symptoms for ages, and now finally he has something to show for it. Though ‘show’ isn’t quite the words I’d use. In fact consider yourself lucky if you get a glimpse at all. But you sure can feel that sharp little tooth in there. His symptoms seemed to have gone on for ages, he went off his food for a while, had really smelly and runny nappies, was rubbing things against his gums etc etc Thankfully he is eating again, and the nappies have improved. But on a whole it hasn’t been too terrible.

Another first is the ‘thinking-about-crawling-four-legged-maneuver’. He has started to lift himself onto all fours and then rocks back and forth a bit. Almost like he is not sure where to from here. Maybe I should enjoy the piece, as it is he is into everything, this can only get more exciting once he can get around more…bring on the safety gates….


Sunday we had a braai with some friends to watch the Wimbledon mens final and the footie world cup. All big excitement. Our friend Tina (first picture) also popped in for a surprise visit, she had spent the afternoon at Garsons Farm in Esher picking stawberries and cherries, and as they where really ripe she decided to come share her loot with us. They are so yummie, I’ve just cook some for Leo to have with his lunch tomorrow.

They are so yummie in fact, we are thinking of making our own trip to the farm this weekend, we’ll see what the weather does…Tina was also the friend who introduced us to 'Blogging', click on her name to see her take on Sunday afternoon.
