First camping trip

This weekend gone by, we took Leo on his first camping weekend away. Bronson and I took part in the National Club relay champs held in Nottingham, a large group go up to Nottingham every year to take part in this, and it’s usually a great social and sporting weekend away.

We drove up on Friday night, the roads were terrible so only got there at 11pm. Thankfully there were lots of people still up so they helped us get the tent pitched. Leo was very fascinated by all this, but still managed to go right to sleep once put in his travel cot in our new (bigger) tent. We ended up putting him in bed with us half way through the night as it suddenly got really cold.
Saturday was spent racing at the club champs, my race was in the morning and Bronson raced in the afternoon so between us we managed to look after Leo. Some club mates also lent a hand when things got too hectic.

Tanya and Roger also brought their daughter Lauren along for the weekend, she is about 5 weeks older then Leo. They got on famously, though toy sharing was a bit pants…they spent most of their time trying to take toys off each other. Leo also did his usual stunt of trying to put Lauren in his mouth…very charming our son is!!!

As for the racing…well lets just say…it hurt. Bronson and I are nowhere near as fit as we usually are, so each stage of the race really hurt. But we got around, not putting ourselves to shame.

We managed to lend a warmer sleep suit for Saturday night, hence the pink outfit…it belonged to another couples daughter.

All in all it was a great weekend, we are still a little sleep deprived but will hopefully recover in time for the weekend….when we’ll start all over again!!!
